Joe Root, an English cricketer, has set a new record in India-England Test matches by becoming the top run-scorer. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's previous record of 2,535 runs in 32 matches against England.
Root, who was just 10 runs away from the milestone, achieved it in the 21st over of the game. With this achievement, he now holds the title of the highest run-scorer in India-England Tests, accumulating a total of 2,555 runs in 48 matches.
Joe Root, the accomplished cricketer, has added another remarkable achievement to his already impressive resume. He created history in the World Test Championship by becoming the first batter to surpass the 4,000-run milestone. Over the course of 48 Tests, Root has amassed an astonishing total of 4,016 runs.
In the ongoing first Test against India, Root's innings came to an end when he scored 29 runs off 60 deliveries. While attempting a sweep shot off Ravindra Jadeja's bowling, he unfortunately got caught at short fine-leg.
